Coursework writing is nothing but writing about a given subject, putting
in your ideas and inference. Group work in coursework would mean working in
groups thus putting in joint effort on the common topic given. This means that
there would be a joint effort by all those involved in the group, pooling in of
ideas, exchange of thoughts, delegating of work etc.
The basic purpose of coursework is for developing certain skills in students
such as enhancing his reasoning capacity, time management skills, gaining
knowledge by acquiring new ideas, being able to convince others through your
words etc.
There are many advantages of group work in assignment writing. It
reduces strain of the students to a great extent. In groups, delegation of work is easily
possible and therefore the topic given can be divided into sub-topics and each
student can be given one topic each. Delegation of work and responsibilities
thus assigning role to everyone in the group helps in dividing of work pooling
in of various thoughts and ideas. They have a leader who can schedule regular
meetings in order to discuss what each one has contributed and to discuss what
can be considered and what not along with everyone’s consensus. There will be a
wide exchange of ideas too giving a new outlook to the whole thing.
Group work can be very effective and it will achieve great results if
done properly. However along with these positives, there are some disadvantages
too. Like if there is lack of co-ordination in the group or if everyone is not
following the commonly agreed objective then it becomes difficult for the
others. Co-operation is very essential and everyone should be open minded and
be accommodative to the other persons needs as well as ideas. There could be difference of opinion too,
however if tackled correctly can be evaded. So if the negatives are tackled at
the right time and with proper communication amongst everyone in the group and
if each person undertakes his role properly then your assignment can be the
best fetching great scores for everyone in return for each ones hard work.
